Utkarsh Bangla Scheme: The Utkarsh Bangla Scheme, an initiative by the Department of Technical Education, Training & Skill Development, Government of West Bengal, has opened new horizons for the unemployed youth of the state. Under this project, completely free job-oriented training is being provided, playing a crucial role in the economic development of rural areas. A training centre has also been established in Kanthi, Purba Medinipur, offering job opportunities immediately after the training.
Through the Utkarsh Bangla project, two special courses have been launched at the Kanthi training centre. These courses are for a duration of just four months, and upon completion, direct job placements are arranged through government-approved organisations.
Course Details and Eligibility
Admissions are currently open for two courses at the Kanthi Utkarsh Bangla centre. The details of the courses are provided in the table below:

Training and Certification
Candidates receive hands-on training using fully modern equipment. An important part of the training includes project work. After the successful completion of the course, a government-recognised certificate is awarded by the West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development. This certificate will provide an added advantage for future government and private sector jobs.
Job Opportunities and Self-Reliance
Special arrangements for jobs are in place for candidates after the training. Many young men and women from across the state have already received training under this scheme and are now employed in various organisations. Students graduating from the Kanthi centre have also started their careers in garment factories, as office assistants, or as data entry operators, becoming self-reliant.
Rajib Khanra, the Manager of the Kanthi Utkarsh Bangla Centre, said, “Many boys and girls from ordinary families have found employment today through the Utkarsh Bangla scheme. We want more people to take advantage of this opportunity.”
